Christmas Tour of Homes...

 Christmastime is all about traditions in our house {some from when I was a little girl and a few we've started for our kids}.  We keep things simple and include them in everything we do.

A new tradition this year: Elf on the Shelf...Meet Bartholemieux {name & spelling courtesy of Daniel - if you're a Pens fan, this means something to you}
Our sparkling tree.  I used to be a Christmas Nazi particular about where the ornaments hung, but I've left go & they fall where they may.  The kids will only be little for a short time, and I'll have the rest of my life for perfection.
Daniel has always loved setting up the nativity {a sweet gift from from sweet sister the year we got married} - I bought the creche at Dollar Tree for...you guessed it...$1.00...and ten years later, she's still standing  on our little round corner table in the dining room :)
A couple views of our dining room - my favorite place to decorate...

This year I bought the Nativity Tealight Trio from Dayspring, and I LOVE the way it looks on this shelf above our server in the dining room.  The little snowman to the right was a gift from my grandma nine years ago - the Christmas before she passed away - so special.

This angel graces the bathroom vanity with her presence each year - another piece of my grandma lives on.

You can find this hot buttered rum candle burning in our kitchen most nights...LOVE.

Our little tree in the family room is adorned with ornaments from our childhood & homemade creations Daniel has made over the years.

We have a tiny tree that {thought I took a picture, but must have missed it...maybe later?} has been around since Dan & my first Christmas together eleven years ago - I decorated his apartment one day while he was at work - it didn't go as well as I had planned, but we look back and laugh...this was before we were married.  It now makes its home in Joel's nursery, and had been a part of Daniel's bedroom each year prior to this.  Daniel has TONS of ornaments on each of our trees, and we'll be adding for Joel each year as well.
CHRISTMAS letters - My mom gave this to me shortly after we got married.  I started out telling Daniel the order of the symbols {before he knew his letters}...then we moved on to me telling him the order of the letters...next he looked at Christmas spelled somewhere else to make the word...and now he does it alone.  I bet Joel will have a helper in years to come :)
A few red lights to speckle the shrubs...a wreath & candle glowing in each window...I keep the candles lit all year :)
There are a few other areas of our home I'm probably forgetting {and will try to add later}, but for now...this is Christmas around our home...Merry, Merry to you & yours...God bless :)

  1. I hope you had a merry Christmas. I really like the look of the pink lights in the picture around the outside of your home.
