Happy 15 Months, Joel!

Our little buddy is 15 months old and is keeping this mama very busy!  He's finally walking and doesn't stop!  Before he began to walk, he spent most of his waking hours "walking" on his knees.  He jumped all over the place and giggled as he went.  While it was cute, we wondered if he'd ever take off on foot, but as with every other milestone, he worked at his own pace and is now officially a walker :)

  Love this!  They're inseparable :)

Joel now has 12 teeth, including four molars {2 top & 2 bottom}.  He we went through a week of aggravation for one of the molars and one in the bottom front. Another is peeking through on top, so he'll have 13 before we know it.

He has such a fun & loving spirit, but that doesn't mean we don't hit rough patches every now and then.  It is sooooo important to keep him on a schedule.  We just got back from a week at the beach {which is where he officially learned to walk full-time - our beach house had Berber carpet, which made it easier for him to get going}.  He did so good!  He slept through {most} nights in his pack & play in the living room and napped twice a day like a champ.

Joel still takes a bottle in the morning and at bedtime.  He doesn't seem to miss it throughout the day, as he is busy eating lots of other foods, playing with his big brother, and getting into everything!!   His favorite foods: yogurt {still}, raisins, blueberries, watermelon, cheese, and goldfish crackers.  He loves to dance and will bust a move pretty much anytime he hears music.  Favorite toys: stacking number stars, homemade rain stick, balls of any kind, Diego doodle board, John Deere tractor, board books, new sock monkey from our beach vacation   :)

He's "talks" all the time.  He'll come off with a whole line...we'll ask him what he said and he repeats himself to a t!  We have no idea what he's saying, but he sure does.  Words: Mama, Dada, puff-puff {when we put powder in his diaper}, duck {or some variation}.  He is very receptive and seems to understand most of what we say.  ie: Get the ball.  Can Mommy have a kiss?  Give Daniel hugs!  Do you want a drink?  Are you hungry?...

Happy 15 months to our beach baby :)

One Kings Lane

One Kings Lane has some awesome products in their flash sales this week, insulated chest tote...only $12!.  Equal parts classic and quirky, this insulated upright tote bag is all set to travel to work, school, or the beach, and with its pretty paisley pattern, it always travels in style. Made from PVC-coated polyester fabric with shoulder-length handles and a zipper closure, this water-resistant bag also features a small external pocket. This would be great to keep snacks and drinks cold at the pool or beach...our vacation is coming up soon, so I think I might grab one of these before it's too late!

Another great item is this little toiletry kit.  For your personal essentials on the go, this cute toiletry kit is king. Made of water-resistant, coated cotton twill, this little bag is small enough to fit in your tote, but big enough to hold everything you need!  I think I'll snag one of these, too!

Zinc Door

Are you ready to obsess over home decor?

During the month of July, Zinc Door is featuring Jonathan Adler and I am in love with his new collection of bath accessories.  Add a splash of color to your bathroom with the Jonathan Adler Arcade Orange/Grey Shower Curtain.

 Toss a sense of modernity to a sofa or bed with Jonathan Adler throw pillows. These pillows are gorgeous with their hand-embroidered long stitches and colorful patterns.

The Hollywood Navy Printed Sheet Set is a contemporary approach to Hollywood Regency style. This bedding design lives up to the "happy chic" vibe of Jonathan Adler.

Be sure to check out his entire collection of home decor at Zinc Door and design your dream space today!

show us your life - mantles

We have a small gas fireplace in our family room {beach theme}.  It has a tiny mantle, but I still love to decorate!  Our dream home will have a huge stone fireplace, but until then...

pin-it friday...

These granola bars are easy to make, yummy, and healthy.  What more could you want?
We made a double batch {which I highly suggest!} on Monday
& we've been snacking on them all week :)

I was looking for a makeshift plant stand and stumbled onto this popcorn tin in the closet...perfect :)
I have also stored old magazines {for crafts & school projects} in these tins.
 Do you have any other uses for empty popcorn tins?  Share in the comments :)

These cute little stones will be sweet in my owl themed classroom this fall.
I remember painting stones with my grandma when I was a little girl!
 The kids and I are on the search for stones and pebbles to paint :)

101 Free Prints

I took the kids to back Penn State for the afternoon last Friday.
We met my mom, sister & her kids.
We shopped for all things blue & white, had lunch, went to the Nittany Lion shrine, Joe-Pa shrine,
and had ice cream at the creamery.  Best. Ice cream. Ever.  We had a blast!

I took lots of pictures at various spots on campus, but this is one of my favorites.  I want to frame it :)
Which reminds me...Today only, get 101 free prints at Shutterfly.  Use code PRINTS4TH at checkout.

happy thursday - Target finds

It's been awhile since I've posted about Target clearance sales, partly because I haven't had the time and partly because I've been lazy.  But...last week I snagged some awesome finds in various departments throughout the store:

 I put this picnic basket together for a birthday present.
  • glasses - $7.68 for both   {reg. 5.99 each}
  • paper blocks - $1.98 {reg. 3.99}
  • linen napkins - $11.12 for all four {reg. 3.99 each}
  • picnic basket: Dayspring & bottled water: TJ Maxx - everything else: Target
If I wouldn't have been shopping for a gift, I probably wouldn't have gotten anything here except for maybe the paper blocks.  The glasses and napkins are cute, but they were a little more than I would normally spend for something like that to go in my stockpile.  However, if they wouldn't have been on sale, I would have probably gotten them since I needed the gift.

  • canisters with lids - $4.44 for all 3 {reg. 4.99 each}
  • nautical decor - $5.98 {reg. 19.99} ~ This is for Joel's room...I love it!
  • SpongeBob notebooks - $2.80 for both {reg. 2.00 each} ~ for school prize box
  • bubbles - $3.00 for all 3 {reg. 2.00 each} ~ for school prize box
  • picture frame - $ 2.38 {reg. 7.99}
  • coasters - $2.98  {reg. 9.99}
  • sippy cup - $4.88 {reg. 6.99}
  • tea lanterns - $3.96 for both {reg. 3.99 each} ~ I'm going to use these to store pencils at school
Each of the above items are things I would have never paid regular price for. They are simply items that I will be able to use in my classroom, to decorate with at home, and to add to my stockpile.

If I would have paid regular price for everything {which I wouldn't have} in both pictures, I would have spent $109.84.  Instead, I spent $51.20 and saved a total of...$58.64 {a little more than 50% savings}.  Woohoo!!!  Be on the lookout for Target's annual summer toy clearance!  Happy Saving :)

wordless wednesday - 4th of July style...

 Joel wasn't a fan of being out in the heat - we spent most of our day staying cool inside :)

 Happy Birthday, America!

 Grilled kabobs and corn on the cob for dinner...yum!

He was much happier getting ready for a walk with Monkey & he kept his shades on.  :)
We miss Daniel {he's staying with family this week}.  We can't wait to see him on Friday!!!

hey Andy...

I was so sad to hear of Andy Griffith's death.  We grew up watching reruns of The Andy Griffith Show and I always chuckle when I hear the theme song, thinking back to my childhood.  My dad still watches it!  I miss the good old days!  Rest in peace, Andy.  Until we meet again...
